Recurve limb crossbows have always been known to be more reliable, more accurate, more powerful, lighter weight, faster and virtually maintenance-free. They were also notably wider than other crossbows. Thanks to Compact Recurve Technology, first introduced by Excalibur MATRIX Series in 2014, that gap closed considerably while the performance gap widened.
